"Chris is an expert clinician in supporting young adults to manage ADHD and associated anxiety and depression symptoms. He has such a wealth of experience that I frequently invite him to guest lecture in courses about diagnosis and treatment. We often refer clients to his practice because he accepts insurance and maintains a professional, client-centered practice."
- Steven Parks, Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Board Approved Supervisor and Professor, University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work
"Really helpful staff and my therapist was wonderful. Staff handled billing for me and reminded me of my appointments. My therapist was understanding and caring and really helped me see things from a different perspective. I'd recomend this place to my family."

Clear Lake Psychotherapy is a fully virtual, private-pay and insurance-accepted mental health practice licensed in Texas. Founded more than 40 years ago in the Houston area, the practice offers therapy for ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, TBI, relationship concerns, and other issues.
The team includes licensed professional counselors, a licensed psychologist, and a bilingual Spanish-speaking therapist, all providing telehealth sessions statewide. We are highly trained and experienced clinicians who prioritize clinical judgment, privacy, and individualized treatment. We help families and individuals, from adolescents to seniors, understand emotional, behavioral, developmental, and relational challenges with clear, practical treatment plans for meaningful change.
Yes. We accept most major insurance plans in Texas, and our admin team will verify your benefits before your first session so you know exactly what to expect.
We see adolescents, teens, college students, adults, couples, and families in all stages of life. Each therapist's bio on our Meet Our Therapists page lists the ages they see.
Yes, many adults we work with are parents who want support with navigating emotions, ADHD, stress, anxiety, coping skills, personal growth, or challenges that affect family life and parenting. Julieta Edmond, MA, LPC, a Certified PCIT Therapist also provides Parent Child Interaction Therapy online for Texas families with children ages 2 to 7. During sessions she coaches the parent in real time while the parent plays with their child. Most families finish in 12 to 16 weekly sessions, and PCIT is available in English or Spanish.
Clear Lake Psychotherapy uses evidence-based treatments supported by research and clinical best practices. We choose approaches based on the client's needs, developmental level, and goals. Therapy approaches include but are not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness-based Therapy, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) and Gottman method couples counseling.
No, you do not need a referral. You can contact Clear Lake Psychotherapy directly to schedule — no referral from a doctor or primary care provider is required. Simply reach out, and our admin team will verify your insurance and match you with the right therapist.
Clear Lake Psychotherapy has been providing therapy since 1984, and today every session is by secure video. Being online lets clients anywhere in Texas, including towns with few therapists nearby, access high-quality care with us. Clients also find it easier to keep their appointments when they don't have to drive across town or take extra time off work to get there, and there are no waiting rooms, which reduces concerns about confidentiality
Yes. Therapy licenses are issued by each state, and the rules follow where the client is during the session. You need to be physically in Texas every time you meet. A Texas student attending college in another state can't have sessions from campus, but they can meet during breaks at home. If you'll be traveling, let your therapist know ahead of time so you can reschedule. Christopher Marullo is also licensed in Colorado and can see clients located there.
Therapy length depends on your goals. Some clients meet short-term to work through a specific challenge, while others benefit from ongoing support. Your therapist will build a plan with you.
No. Your therapist writes their own session notes and clinical records. We don't use AI note-taking, transcription, or documentation tools.
What you talk about in therapy is private and sensitive information about you. By not using AI-generated documentation, Clear Lake Psychotherapy maintains tighter control over confidentiality, data security, and clinical judgment about what doesn't belong in the record and how to describe it accurately.
When you reach out, our office asks what you'd like help with, who the therapy is for, what times work for you, and what insurance you have or if you want to self-pay. We use that to recommend a therapist whose training and schedule fit. If you already know who you want to see, just tell us.
Clear Lake Psychotherapy was founded in 1984 and has served more than 5,000 clients across Texas.
